Library & Information Research LIS 1002: - HOME -

This course is designed to develop information literacy skills and to help students become full participants in all the information available to them. It introduces students to the core concepts of information retrieval, research and writing papers.

This guide provides information on performing research.

While all aspects of this guide are important to read, you will probably spend the most time in:

Finding Sources and/or Google Scholar, where you will find quality resources and methods to lead to your information research;

Citing Sources, where you will learn about proper MLA and APA citation and formatting; and

Writing Tips, where you can find some helpful know-how on writing the research paper itself.
