The garden was established in fall 2018 by Dr. Teresa Restom Gaskill's BSC 1005C class. The class was a new initiative to teach Biological Sciences (for non-science majors) through gardening. Students in this class in 2018 and 2019 cleared the area between the SC building and the gym, built raised beds, and set up the garden. The idea of this project is to provide one section of this course every fall and spring, in which students learn biological concepts through a hands-on, problem-solving approach, as they experience challenges while gardening.
