What is Academic Integrity?

Academic integrity (also called academic honesty) means that you, as a student, uphold the college's honor code - it means that you will be honest in your own academic work and report any violations of the honor code by other students.

When you register for classes each semester, you sign the following pledge:

I understand that SPC expects its students to be honest in all their academic work. I agree to adhere to this commitment to academic honesty and understand that my failure to comply with this commitment may result in disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from the College.

That sounds scary, boring, or maybe a mixture of both, right? Don't worry - we are about to learn more about the types of academic dishonestly and how to avoid them.

Here is the official Academic Honesty Policy.
