     Information Services Librarian
     Director of Innovation Lab

 

  • Support the community college philosophy through commitment to success of students with diverse goals, backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Received multiple grants totaling close to $23,000 for work ranging from e-book reader/tablet studies and Innovation Lab creation to entrepreneurial crowdsourcing and various immersive reality technologies.
  • Liaison with SPC IT department and FALSC to implement/maintain OpenAthens to gain seamless access to library resources, and Electronic Resource Management liaison.
  • Organized Maker Boot Camp summer workshops on 3D design/printing, robotics, circuitry, music technology, video game design, virtual reality, and more emerging technologies to over one hundred middle school children.
  • Faculty liaison between Fine Arts, Humanities, and Music Industry and Recording Arts departments.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and focused classroom/individual instruction to students and faculty.

  • Oversee development of new technologies and services.
  • Research and report on emerging technologies to ensure that Novare Library Services can provide the best possible IT development and training for libraries and businesses.

  • Administered computer systems including repairs/upgrades/acquisitions/networking.
  • Ask-a-Librarian digital reference site coordinator.
  • Received a $25,000 grant to create a mobile technology lab.
  • Acquisitioned electronic databases and serial publications.
  • Performed basic computer and Internet instruction for library patrons and staff.
  • Web Design and PC Reservation manager.

2000 – 2001, Bill Gates Foundation, Seattle, WA.

     Library Liaison Internship
 

  • Liaison between Bill Gates Foundation and various Florida Library Systems.
  • Trained library staff on Windows NT and other computer software applications.
  • Extensive computer hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance experience.

     Junior Fellowship

  • Aided the Library of Congress’ Archiving Division in inventorying, chronicling and making available previously unexplored materials for scholars, Leonard Bernstein Collection.
  • Verbally presented archival materials to music division staff including the Librarian of Congress.
  • Created a field report in HTML for an undergraduate field study at USF.
