Welcome to the Undergraduate Research Experience! 

Use the following checklist to help with your journey in the program:

URE Program Checklist:

Step 1: Submit Commitment Contract

Step 2: Submit URE Project Proposal/Description

Step 3: Conduct Research

Step 4: Submit Final Research Report/Presentation

Step 5: Complete URE Program Evaluation Survey

Bonus: Participate in the Annual URE Symposium in April

Please answer the following questions in a brief summary:

  • What is the general description of what you will be researching? 

  • Who will you be conducting this research with? 

  • What subject(s) of literature will you be reviewing? 

  • How do you plan to collect data? 

  • Why is this research relevant to your field/what outcomes could this project provide to the industry/college? 

  • Do you have any previous experiences or classes that you think might be useful for this research? 

Please complete these questions in a Microsoft Word document or equivalent and upload the completed document to the Dropbox in MyCourses. 

Spend 8-weeks (or a little longer) on your research and analysis. Meet with your mentor for at least one hour each week and provide them with a weekly update.

Now it's time to show off your hard work! 

Upon completion of the program, a URE representative will send out an invitation to join and present at the URE Symposium.

Please consider completing a poster (Find them in the URE Symposium Guide) and applying to present at the Annual URE Symposium in March!
