This Scavenger Hunt is for Prof. Mayfield-Brown's class SYG 2000.
1, Main Library Page. Above the search box, click on "Search Everything." Then type the keywords "Native American" in the search box. (An alternative search would be "American Indian.") You will have several million results listed which include books, articles, videos and more. The first result is called a "Research Starter " and it provides an overview of the topic. Name the Publisher of the Research Starter.
2. Library Search Results. Near the top of the left-hand column on the search results list, check "Available as eBook." Name the author and title of an ebook that interests you.
3. Library Search Results. Return to the list of search results. Uncheck "Available as eBook." In the left-hand column you can narrow your results based on topic, publication year, format, and more. Under "Format," how many "Academic Journal" results are listed? (hint: The number of results is listed and you do not need to check the "Academic Journal" box.)
4. Library Search Results. Under "Format," check the "Magazines" box. From the "Magazines" results list, select an article that interests you and click on it. Find the APA using the "Cite" tool the database provides on the right-hand column. Copy and paste the citation for this answer.
5. Course Reserves. Click on the "Course Reserves" tab. Search for your instructor or class. Name one of the titles on reserve.

9. Main Library Page. Click on the Databases A-Z tab which is at the top of the page. Select the Opposing Viewpoints Database. In the search box, enter the phrase "Native American." Your results will list "All Content Types." Select "Viewpoints." Name the title of a Viewpoint that interests you.
10. AskALibrarian. From the Main Library Page, click on the tab on the right side of the page named AskALibrarian. Fill in your name, email and ask the question, "What month is Native American Heritage Month?"
