Welcome

This guide provides general research tips for completing the research paper in ENC 1101 - Composition One.

While all aspects of this guide are important to read, you will probably benefit the most from reading:

Evaluating Sources, where you will understand what to look for in your sources.

Finding Sources, where you will find quality resources and methods to lead to your information research;

Citing Sources, where you will learn about proper MLA citation and formatting; and

Writing Tips, where you can find some helpful know-how on writing the research paper itself.

If you need immediate assistance, and Mr. Bodie is not available, you may try Live Chat through Ask A Librarian, a statewide information/reference service in Florida. Note: that means SPC does NOT run the service. We only contribute to it.  I

If you use Ask A Librarain email, it goes directly to SPC librarians and will be answered within 24 hours or less (perhaps a little longer on weekends).

Hours of operation and other questions about Ask A Librarian, can be found here
