There are also library staff ready to help you find and organize reliable sources.  If you're having trouble getting started, feel free to visit us to sit down and discuss your assignment. ·     A short break: Oddly enough, a little bit of away time from your work can really help recharge your batteries and get those writing juices flowing. Take some time to go for a walk, talk to some friends, or visit your favorite website for a while. By taking your mind off of your writing for a little bit, you can actually improve your productiveness when you get back to it. Just don't stay away too long!

·     A sit-down with your instructor: There's always the chance that part of your anxiety comes from faulty understanding of the assignment. Sitting down with your instructor to go over the assignment requirements will help clarify any lingering questions you may have. This will also help you make sure you know exactly what it is your instructor expects from your work.

·     The Nike approach: Not sure how to calm down enough to start writing? Just do it! Sometimes, just sitting down and writing what comes to mind can help calm those jittery nerves and get you focused for the task ahead. You don't have to keep any of what you start out with, but the act of writing can actually get you ready to let the real work begin!
